In short

Kapwing is a video editor with auto-subtitles inside; its Pro plan is $16 a month for up to 1,000 minutes of AI features. Transcribsi is a transcription service, $10 a month with no minute limit of audio, with six export formats and an MCP server.

The case

The editor and the engine

Kapwing edits video and keeps the transcript in the corner of it: auto-subtitles, a transcript file to download, subtitle translation for 60+ languages. The minutes on the paid plans are minutes of the editor, shared by all of its AI tools. We read the public pages of Kapwing on 22 October 2026 and left the number of transcription languages unconfirmed, because the pricing page does not name it.

How it works

How to move a file to this service

  1. 1

Separate the editor minutes from the audio

Kapwing counts AI work in minutes and shares the pool between the features: up to 1,000 minutes a month on Pro and 4,000 on Business. Ours counts the audio itself, and no minute limit of it on the $10 plan.

  2. 2

Look at the free plan from both sides

On Kapwing the free export stops at four minutes of video and carries a watermark, and some AI features are limited to five minutes a month. Ours is $0 with 3 files a day and no card, and one file runs to 30 minutes.

  3. 3

Check the subtitle file and the text file

Kapwing writes SRT and VTT subtitles and a transcript file for download. Ours writes the same two subtitle formats and adds Markdown, CSV and DOCX, each of them with the timecodes of every line.

Tips

  • Check what the minutes of the plan are minutes of.

  • A watermark is a price as well.

  • Read the language cell before the price cell.

Questions this page answers

Is Kapwing cheaper than Transcribsi?

The Pro plan of Kapwing is $16 a month against our $10, and the free export of Kapwing stops at four minutes of video. The minutes are not the same unit: ours are minutes of audio, theirs are minutes of the editor.

How many languages does Kapwing transcribe?

Not confirmed on the pages we read: the pricing page names auto-subtitles and subtitle translation for 60+ languages, but no number for the transcription itself. We leave a cell empty rather than fill it with a guess, so our row says 2: 99+ languages.

Does Kapwing give me a transcript file?

Yes, a transcript file for download, next to SRT and VTT subtitles. Ours gives the same formats plus Markdown, CSV and DOCX, with a timecode on every line of the text.

What do the reviews say about Kapwing?

Trustpilot showed 1.9 out of 5 on 1,375 reviews when we read it on 22 October 2026, and the most mentioned topics there were the subscription, spam and refunds. We publish no rating of our own, because we have no review page to point at.
