How to transcribe English audio
- 1
Choose the language, or do not
Tthe recording language is detected automatically. On a short file the detection took 0.39 s in our own measurement, so the guess is cheap and the guess is right.
- 2
Upload the recording
Drop the file on the widget: up to 30 minutes. A file that is longer than that has to be split; the upload is refused with a clear error.
- 3
Read it, fix it, export it
Every line carries the time it starts and ends. Fix a name in the app and export the result as TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV or DOCX.
Tips
Leave the detection on when the recording is mixed.
A pure English file may leave the country; read the privacy page.
Check the numbers and the names in the first minute.
Questions this page answers
Which languages does the service support?
9the recording language is detected automatically. We do not publish a list of 98 languages, because we do not have 98 engines.
Where is an English file processed?
A pure English file may be sent to a third-party cloud speech provider in the United States, when that fallback is enabled on the server. A Russian or mixed file stays on our own engine, outside the United States.
Is the audio used to train anything?
No. The audio and the transcript are never used to train models for other customers, and they are never sold. The privacy page spells out what leaves the server.
How fast is a short file?
Our own measurement of 21 October 2026: 0.84 s to transcribe a short file and 0.39 s to detect its language. Long recordings take longer and go through a queue.
