not one of our 99+ languages; the file is processed and the words are not isiZulu
Transcribe isiZulu audio to text
Transcribe isiZulu audio to text: our two engines, the file limits, the free plan, the export formats and the prices of the market, 21 October 2026.
isiZulu is outside the 99+ languages our engine runs — 99+ languages. The file still moves through the service: up to 30 minutes, 3 files a day for $0, and a transcript with a timecode on every line and speakers on request.
Where isiZulu recordings come from
isiZulu recordings arrive from community radio, from clinics and from meetings where the language switches halfway through a sentence. The services in our audit of 21 October 2026 publish language counts and interface lists, and isiZulu is in neither. Ours covers 99+ languages. What follows is what our service does with the file, and what it will not pretend to do.
What comes back from the engine
TurboScribe 98+, Transcribe.com 120+, Rev 58 foreign languages — no isiZulu locale in any of them
Rev $0.30 an hour, language identification $0.003 a minute; AssemblyAI $0.15 to $0.21 an hour
Five steps, from the recording to the export
- 1
Keep the recording whole
Cutting a two-hour conversation in pieces is worse than reading a long transcript. One file is up to 30 minutes, so most recordings fit as they are.
- 2
Upload it once
Drop the file on the widget above: mp3, wav, m4a, mp4, or video. The free plan takes 3 files a day of up to 30 minutes each.
- 3
Let the detection work
Automatic detection took 0.39 s on a short file in our own measurement, and the profile it picks applies to the whole recording.
- 4
Read with the timecodes
Every segment starts and ends on a clock, and speakers are named separately on request. That is how you find the sentence the profile lost.
- 5
Export for the next step
TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV or DOCX, with DOCX on the Pro plan at $10 a month paid yearly or $20 a month paid monthly.
Tips
A long recording is fine here: the limit is 30 minutes, not 30.
Speaker labels save the argument about who said what.
isiZulu next to English in one file is two jobs; split it if you can.
Export to CSV when the work continues in a spreadsheet.
The Telegram bot returns the same transcript in the chat.
Questions about isiZulu transcription
Does the service know isiZulu?
No.Tthe recording language is detected automatically. An isiZulu file is processed and returned with the same structure, but not with isiZulu words.
How do I judge the result?
Read the first minute with the timecodes in view. The timing of the segments shows where the profile lost the thread, and that is visible before you pay anything.
What do the other services charge?
Rev: $0.30 an hour for foreign languages, with language identification at $0.003 a minute. AssemblyAI: $0.15 to $0.21 an hour. Both figures were read on 21 October 2026.
Is there a free option with a higher limit?
Our free plan is $0, 3 files a day, 30 minutes a file, no card. Otter gives 300 minutes a month free, and tl;dv offers unlimited transcription on 30+ languages at 0 EUR. Read 21 October 2026.
