In short

VEED is a video editor with transcription inside it: the cheapest paid plan is $147 a year per user. Transcribsi is a transcription service, $10 a month with no minute limit, with SRT, VTT, DOCX and CSV exports and a REST API.

The case

The editor and the service

VEED sells a video editor and gives the transcript away inside it, which is a good deal when the video is the work and a poor one when only the words are needed. Subtitles on the paid plans run under a fair use of 50 hours a month, and the transcription and the translation are counted in minutes against the same pool. We read the public pages of VEED on 22 October 2026 and the table below is what we found.

How it works

How a file becomes a transcript here

  1. 1

Ask what comes out of the tool

VEED gives TXT, SRT and VTT from a clip, and the download of the subtitle file sits behind the paid plans. Ours gives the same subtitle formats plus Markdown, CSV and DOCX, and every one of them is on the free plan too.

  2. 2

Look at the price of the whole editor

Creator costs $147 a year per user, Pro $265 and Studio $465, and Enterprise is a conversation. If only the words are needed, our $10 a month carries no minute limit of audio for less than the cheapest editor.

  3. 3

Count the languages of the video

VEED writes 125+ languages for transcription and for translation, with a claimed accuracy of up to 99.9% on its audio-to-text page. We do 99+ languages, and we say so on every page of this site.

  4. 4

    Watch the fair-use cap

Subtitle generation on the paid plans is limited to 50 hours a month, and the minutes of transcription and of translation are taken from the same allowance. A month of long videos reaches that cap fast.

Tips

  • A fair-use cap is a limit, not a plan.

  • Do not buy an editor to get a transcript.

  • Ask for the export formats before the subscription.

Questions this page answers

Is VEED cheaper than a transcription service?

For the text alone, no. The cheapest paid plan of VEED is $147 a year per user and it buys a video editor. Our $10 a month buys no minute limit of audio and nothing else, which is the cheaper way to get words.

Can I download the transcript from VEED?

Yes, as TXT, SRT or VTT, and the download of the subtitle file belongs to the paid plans. Our six export formats, DOCX and CSV included, are on every plan, the free one as well.

How many languages does VEED transcribe?

125+, written on its audio-to-text page, with an accuracy claim of up to 99.9%. We publish no accuracy number of our own, because a number without the test set behind it means nothing.

What is the monthly price at VEED?

The pricing page carries a monthly and a yearly switch, and the yearly sums were the ones we could read on 22 October 2026. The monthly figures were not in that render, so the table leaves them out.
