Does Transcribsi transcribe Amharic?
No. Our engine covers 99+ languages, and we say so on every page of this site. Amharic audio needs an engine that was trained for it.
Transcribe Amharic audio to text: our engine takes 99+ languages, AssemblyAI lists Amharic among its 99 languages. What to send where, with the limits of both.
Our engine speaks 99+ languages, and will not take Amharic. AssemblyAI lists 99 languages, Amharic among them (assemblyai.com/languages, read 22 October 2026). Send the Amharic recording there; the 99+ languages part can come here, up to 30 minutes on the free plan.
A conversation recorded in Amharic has to be written down by something that was trained for Amharic, and our own engine was not. What we do well is the other half of the recording: the 99+ languages parts, the answers given to a colleague who speaks both, the handover to a partner. Those come back with a timecode on every line and the speakers named on request.
| What | Value |
|---|---|
| Amharic speech | on our list — our engine has 99+ languages |
| A service that lists Amharic | AssemblyAI lists 99 languages, Amharic among them |
| One file | up to 30 minutes on the free plan, no minute limit on Pro |
| What comes back | one segment per line, timecodes, speakers named on request |
Note where the language changes. A call that starts in Amharic and turns to English is two files after you split it, not one.
AssemblyAI publishes 99 languages, Amharic among them, on its own language page, read on 22 October 2026. The link is in the sources below.
Drop it on the widget above: up to 30 minutes. The transcript comes back line by line, with the time each line starts and ends.
Export TXT or Markdown for the file, CSV when the times and the speakers have to go into a sheet. Each part keeps its own timecodes.
Split the recording before the upload, not after the transcript.
Check the first minute of the Russian part for names.
Keep the original recording; both texts come from it.
Write the source of every part into the file name.
No. Our engine covers 99+ languages, and we say so on every page of this site. Amharic audio needs an engine that was trained for it.
The widget has no Amharic in its language list, so the file would be taken as Russian and the text would come back wrong. Split the recording first and keep the Amharic part out of the upload.
Yes, and that is the part we are good at. A conversation that switches between 99+ languages inside one sentence keeps both languages as they were spoken.
$0, three files a day and up to 30 minutes per file, without a card. The paid plan is $10 a month when you pay yearly.
We publish no single score for our engine. Without the test set behind it a number means nothing, so ask for the evaluation report and the sample set and we will send you both on request.
Speakers by name, a time on every line, export to TXT, SRT, VTT, CSV and Markdown.
