In short

Both turn speech into text. Fireflies is a meeting assistant that sits in the call, and its Pro plan is $18 a seat a month. Transcribsi transcribes the file you upload: $10 a month with no minute limit, with a REST API and an MCP server.

The case

Who should pick which

Fireflies was built to sit in a meeting: it records Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and ten more services, writes the summary and pushes it into a CRM. A recording that already lies on your disk is the small corner of that product. We read the public pages of Fireflies on 22 October 2026 and wrote down what we found, including the cells where the service is stronger than we are.

How it works

How to move a recording to this service

  1. 1

    Decide what you actually have

A meeting you can invite Fireflies to is one kind of job. A file that already exists, a lecture or a call recorded on a phone, is a job for a transcription service.

  2. 2

    Count minutes, not seats

Fireflies charges per seat: $18 a month monthly, $10 paid yearly. Ours is $10 a month with no minute limit of audio, and the limit of one file is up to 30 minutes on the free plan.

  3. 3

    Look for the timecode

Every line of our transcript carries the time it starts and ends, and the speaker is named separately on request. That is what you use to find a name or a number in the audio instead of reading the whole transcript twice.

Tips

  • Ask for the recording first, the summary second.

  • A seat is not a minute: compare the two currencies.

  • Read the language line twice: the site language and the recognition language are not the same number.

Questions this page answers

Can Fireflies transcribe a file I already have?

Yes. Uploading audio and video files is listed among the features of its free plan, so a file does not have to come from a meeting the bot joined. The summary, the CRM and the search are what the meeting is for.

Which is cheaper for a team of five?

Fireflies bills per seat: $10 a seat a month when you pay yearly, so five seats come to $50 a month. Ours is $10 a month for one account with no minute limit, and a committed team volume is written down on request.

How many languages do you support?

Two for recognition: 99+ languages, the two the service contract names. The language of the interface is a separate thing from a language the engine understands. Fireflies names many more languages on its pricing page; that is their claim, not a measurement of ours.

When is Fireflies the better choice?

When the meeting itself is the subject: the call is joined automatically, the summary lands in the CRM and the recording stays searchable. We do not join calls, and we do not pretend to be a CRM.
