The case

One is a platform, one is a service

One of them is a platform with four products on the same page: transcription, subtitles, voiceover and live captioning. The other is a transcription service that sells a meeting recorder and a proofreader next to the machine. The surroundings differ more than the minutes do.

How it works

How to read the two price lists

  1. 1

Pay for one job or for a toolkit

Maestra AI bills separately for transcription, subtitles, voiceover and real-time captioning. HappyScribe sells transcription with subtitles, a proofreader and a recorder in one plan.

  2. 2

Measure the allowance in the same unit

HappyScribe counts minutes per year: 1,440 on Basic and 7,200 on Pro. We count no minute limit of audio a month on Pro. Maestra AI's allowance is not measured here.

  3. 3

Ask what you would use the rest for

Cloned voices, an AI interpreter and live captioning only matter if you make videos or run events. A transcript for an archive, a ticket or a search index needs none of them.

Tips

  • Check the unit of the allowance: a month and a year are not the same thing.

  • Paying for a toolkit means paying for the parts you never open.

  • Ask about the file size limit before you send a long recording.

Questions this page answers

Which one has the bigger language list?

HappyScribe announces 150+ transcription languages and 80+ for translation. We have not measured Maestra AI's language list, so that cell says not measured. Our own service recognises 99+ languages: 99+ languages.

Can I try Maestra AI without a subscription?

We have not measured Maestra AI's entry price, so we cannot name its smallest purchase. HappyScribe gives 10 minutes of AI transcription free, and we give 3 files a day of up to 30 minutes each.

Does Maestra AI have an API?

We have not measured which Maestra AI plan carries the API, so that cell says not measured. We ship a REST API and an MCP server with 4 tools from the start of a paid plan.

Which one can be checked by a human?

HappyScribe sells proofreading from $2.00 a minute with a stated 99% accuracy. Maestra AI's human option is not measured, and our service has no human tier at all: every transcript is written by the engine.
