The case

What the money is attached to

The difference between these two is not the quality of a word, it is what the money is attached to. Sonix sells hours of work: transcription, analysis, translation. Trint sells places for people: a seat in a workspace where the transcript, the translation and the subtitles live together. We sell minutes of audio, and nothing else.

How it works

How to compare an hour with a seat

  1. 1

    Count the hours you need

Sonix Core gives 5 hours of transcription and 5 hours of AI analysis a month, Advanced 20 and 25, Pro 40 and 100. Trint writes the allowance as a fair use of 50 hours a seat a month.

  2. 2

Count the people who need access

A Sonix seat is $25 a month on top of the plan. A Trint seat is the plan: $79 on Pro, $69 on Team, and a custom price on Business. Five editors at Trint is five seats.

  3. 3

Check the languages of the archive

Sonix lists 54+ languages in its llms.txt. Trint lists 50+ for transcription and 70+ for translation. We support 99+ languages, and a file that mixes them.

  4. 4

Ask where the file is stored

Trint offers ISO 27001 and an EU-based server on its Business plan; Sonix has HIPAA and a BAA in the medical version. Our files are never used to train models for other customers.

Tips

  • Decide what the money is attached to.

  • Check the number of languages, not the promise of accuracy.

  • Read a trial before a yearly plan.

  • Ask where the archive is kept.

Questions this page answers

Which one is cheaper for one person?

Sonix Core, at $25 a month for 5 hours of transcription and 5 of analysis. The cheapest Trint seat is $69 a month, and it is a seat for a person, not a bucket of hours.

Is the Trint price reliable?

It is the price of the official plans page, read through the search index on 22 October 2026, because the page loads its prices with JavaScript and would not render for us. Sonix was read directly.

Does Trint translate as well as it transcribes?

It lists 50+ languages for transcription and 70+ for translation. Sonix lists 54+ for both. Neither names Russian separately in the material we read.

What does the fair-use limit mean in practice?

For Trint it is written as 50 hours of transcription a seat a month in the enterprise agreement. For Sonix the hours are the product: $10 an hour when the plan runs out.

Which one suits a single file?

Neither, if the file is the whole job. Sonix starts at $25 a month and Trint at $69 a seat; a service that charges for minutes of audio is the smaller tool.
