Transcribe French audio to text: Fireflies, Otter, Sonix, tl;dv and Transcribe.com on French, with the free plan of each and the price of an hour.
French is named in the market more often than any language but English: Fireflies writes English, Spanish, French and several others on 100+ languages, and Otter lists French next to German and Chinese. Ours reads 99+ languages, 30 minutes per file, no minute limit.
French is spoken in France, in Belgium, in Quebec and in West Africa, and the audio of those places is not the same audio. The market treats French as a standard entry, which makes it the right place to tell a service that has a French engine from a service that has a French interface.

| Fireflies | 100+ languages, with English, Spanish, French and several others named on the home page; free plan: unlimited transcription |
| Otter | English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese in the plan table; free plan: 300 minutes a month |
| Sonix | 54+ languages, a French interface; free plan: 30 minutes on a new account, Core $25 a month for 5 hours, an extra hour $10 |
| tl;dv | 30+ transcription languages, the product published in 11 languages including fr; free plan: unlimited transcription |
| Transcribe.com | 120+ languages and dialects, French among them; free plan: a 30-minute trial |
tl;dv publishes its product in eleven languages, French among them, and writes 30+ transcription languages on the same page. A translated menu says nothing at all about the model behind it.
Fireflies names English, Spanish, French and several others on 100+ languages, Otter lists French in its plan table, Sonix 54+, Transcribe.com 120+ languages and dialects, with a free plan on each of them.
A French sentence with a number in it shows the accent faster than any claim about accuracy: the number, the price, the time of the meeting. If those are right, the rest usually is.
A transcript is text with a timecode on every line, a subtitle is the same text cut into short lines. Our exports give both, SRT and VTT among the six formats.
A translated menu is not a translated engine.
Compare the free tiers, not the testimonials.
Numbers in the first minute tell more than a percentage does.

No. Our engine covers 99+ languages, and a French recording is not one of them. We would rather lose the upload than return a transcript that reads like a translation.
Then read the first two minutes of each one. A service that mixes a Quebec and a Paris voice in a single file has to change model in the middle, and that change is where the errors start.
Speakers by name, a time on every line, export to TXT, SRT, VTT, CSV and Markdown.
