Transcribe Portuguese audio to text: Brazilian and European Portuguese, the services that name the language, the free plan of each and the price of an hour.

In short

Brazilian or European, the file is the same size of work: Transcribe.com counts 120+ languages, Sonix 54+, and tl;dv keeps a Portuguese interface beside ten others. Ours takes 99+ languages, 30 minutes per file, no minute limit.

The case

One language, two accents

Portuguese comes in two accents and a dozen dialects, and the services that sell the language differ in what they mean by support. A Portuguese interface is not a Portuguese engine, and an engine trained on Brazilian Portuguese may stumble on a lecture in Lisbon. The honest question is not how many languages the site lists, but which one was measured.

How it works

How to get a Portuguese transcript

  1. 1

    Say which Portuguese you have

Brazilian and European Portuguese are different audio. Descript names Portuguese BR among its 25 languages, and a recording from Lisbon is a different test that nobody publishes a number for.

  2. 2

Hand it to a service that names it

Transcribe.com lists 120+ languages and dialects, Sonix publishes 54+, tl;dv has a Portuguese interface. Pick the one whose list contains Portuguese and whose limits fit the length of the recording.

  3. 3

Judge the result by the numbers

A price, a phone number, a percentage. Digits are where an accent shows first, and if they come out right in the first two minutes, the rest of the file usually follows.

  4. 4

Match the export to the work

A podcast wants a document and a subtitle file, a study session wants the text. Our exports are TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX, and DOCX is on the Pro plan.

Tips

  • Brazilian and European Portuguese are not one language to a model.

  • A Portuguese interface is not a Portuguese engine.

  • Check the digits of the first two minutes.

  • Ask for the free tier before you ask for the price.

Questions this page answers

Do the services support Brazilian Portuguese?

Transcribe.com lists 120+ languages and dialects, Sonix 54+, TurboScribe 98+, and Descript names Portuguese BR among 25 languages. Every one of those was read on 22 October 2026.

Is there a free tier for Portuguese?

Most of them have one. Transcribe.com gives 30 minutes to try, Sonix 30 minutes, tl;dv publishes unlimited transcription on its free plan, and our own free plan is 3 files a day with no card.

Can I get a Portuguese transcript from Transcribsi?

No. We publish 99+ languages, and we would rather say it than let a Portuguese file come back as nonsense. A 99+ languages recording is what our engine reads.

What about Portuguese in a video?

Subtitles are the usual answer. SRT and VTT carry the start and the end of every line, our exports include both, and a subtitle file is what a video team asks for first.
