The case

One counts minutes, the other counts files

Both turn a recording into text, and both started with the same question: how much audio can you afford to push through the machine. One answers with a number of minutes, the other with a number of files and no ceiling.

How it works

How to weigh the two allowances

  1. 1

Put both allowances in the same unit

Transkriptor gives 300 minutes on Lite and 2,400 on Pro. TurboScribe removes the ceiling on the paid plan and limits the file instead, at 10 hours and 5 GB. Our Pro plan gives no minute limit a month.

  2. 2

Check what a big month costs

Transkriptor sells hours in bulk: 100 hours for $60 a month, 1000 hours for $600. TurboScribe has no bulk row on its pricing page, so a very heavy month is a number you cannot forecast from the page.

  3. 3

Look at the second half of the offer

Transkriptor adds a meeting bot, an AI note taker and a chat over the transcript. TurboScribe adds 134+ languages of translation. Neither has to do with the transcript you need today.

Tips

  • An unlimited plan is not unlimited: the file size limit still applies.

  • Bulk hours are a good deal only if you really use them.

  • Write down the minutes per month before you choose a plan.

Questions this page answers

Is there a free plan in either of them?

In both: TurboScribe gives 3 transcriptions a day with files up to 30 minutes and no card, and Transkriptor's free plan carries 90 minutes of transcription.

Which one transcribes in more languages?

Close: Transkriptor announces 100+ transcription languages and TurboScribe 98+, plus 134+ for translation. The site languages are a different count: Transkriptor runs 23 language versions of its site, which is not the same as recognition.

What does the paid plan of TurboScribe allow in one upload?

Files of up to 10 hours and 5 GB, and up to 50 files at once. Our service takes one file of up to 30 minutes on the free plan including the free one.

Can Transkriptor sit in a meeting for me?

Yes, it has a bot for Zoom, Meet and Teams and an AI note taker. Our service does not join calls: the recording stays where it was, and you upload it when it is ready.
