Zoom notes
Zoom notes: from the recording of Zoom to notes you can send, with the time of every line kept. Free $0, 3 files a day.
Take the Zoom recording and the rest of the work is a file upload. The speakers of the Zoom recording are told apart on request. One file gives the notes, and the free plan is $0 with 3 files a day.
How to get Zoom notes
- 1
Open the Recordings tab
The host signs in to the web portal of Zoom, opens the Recordings tab and finds the meeting in the list.
- 2
Send the file to the engine
Drop the file of the Zoom recording on the widget above, set the language and switch the speaker split on when more than one person talks.
- 3
Read the text, fix a name
The text comes back one segment per line, with the start and the end time of every piece. A wrong name is fixed in the editor.
- 4
Export and send it on
Take TXT for a plain text, SRT or VTT when the Zoom recording has to become a subtitled video, and DOCX for a review on Pro.
What comes back from the engine
- TXT
One segment per line, the way a person wrote it down. It is the format to paste into a ticket, a chat or a document.
- TXT, CSV
The start and the end time of every segment, and the speakers named separately when you ask for it.
- SRT, VTT
SRT and VTT with the time of every line, so the recording can carry its own subtitles.
- Markdown, DOCX
The transcript is edited through the API and exported as Markdown for a wiki, or as DOCX for a review.
What Zoom keeps, and what the notes are made of
- Length of one file
up to 30 minutes on the free plan, no minute limit on Pro
- Free plan
$0: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes per file, no card
What the recording does not give you
For Zoom notes, this is the search people type when the work is done and the text is not. The hour after a meeting is spent listening to it again, and it is spent badly, because the ears are tired. Send the Zoom recording through our own engine and it comes back as text, one segment per line.
Tips
A correction in the editor does not move the time of any other segment.
Keep the Zoom recording in a folder of its own, so the export lands where you look for it.
The free plan gives 3 files a day, and the paid plan is $10 a month when you pay yearly.
A headset microphone gives a cleaner text than the microphone of the room.
99+ languages are read, so set the one your recording is in.
Questions about Zoom notes
Is the time of every line kept in Zoom notes?
The time of every segment stays in the file, so Zoom notes can be quoted later without listening again.
What is the difference between Zoom notes and the raw text?
Nothing from Zoom is needed after the download, because the engine reads the file and not the page.
Who may see Zoom notes?
Our own engine reads the Zoom recording once and writes it down: every segment of the text is a line of its own.
What do the Zoom notes keep?
The export is yours to choose: TXT for a plain text, SRT or VTT for a video, and DOCX for a review on Pro.
What should I check in Zoom notes?
The speakers are told apart on request, and the names are set in the editor before the export.
