In short

How it works

How to get the transcript of a Telegram voice note

  1. 1

Send the note to the bot

The button above opens the Telegram bot of the site. The voice message goes into the chat as a file, and the transcript comes back into the same chat with the time of every line.

  2. 2

    Or upload the file here

Save the note to the files of the phone and drop it on the widget. One file is up to 30 minutes, far above the length of a voice message.

  3. 3

Check the words before you answer

A name heard wrong is a name sent to the wrong person. Open the transcript, correct the line, and the corrected text is what the TXT export carries.

  4. 4

    Write the answer back

Copy the text into the chat, or export it: TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV, and DOCX on Pro. The note stops being something to listen to twice.

The case

A reply you can write back

A voice note in a chat is a message that you cannot read quickly, cannot search, cannot forward as text and cannot answer in the same minute it arrived. Somebody talks for a minute and a half, and afterwards the chat holds a wave instead of words. The transcript of that note is the same voice in text, and it is what you paste into the chat as your reply.

Tips

  • Send the note to yourself before the file is gone.

  • The bot and the page give the same transcript.

  • Read the name before you answer with it.

  • Keep the note and the text side by side.

Questions this page answers

Can I get the words without leaving Telegram?

Yes — the button above opens the Telegram bot of the site. The file goes into the chat and the transcript comes back into the same chat, with the start and the end of every line.

Does the bot read my other chats?

No. Nothing of ours is connected to your account in the messenger; you send the one voice message as a file and you get that one message back as text.

What if the note is in Russian?

99+ languages are supported, and a mix of the two; leave the detection on and the language is picked from the audio of the first lines. tl;dv publishes unlimited transcription and 30+ languages (tldv.io/app/pricing, read on 21 October 2026).

How fast does the text come back?

Our own measurement of 21 October 2026: 0.84 s to transcribe a short file and 0.39 s to detect its language. A voice note is a short file, so the answer is quick.
