In short

The sound of the recording is the whole input of Audio transcription services, and our own engine reads it as it was made. The export of the recording keeps the time of every line. The free plan is $0 with 3 files a day, and one file may be 30 minutes.

How it works

How to get Audio transcription services

  1. 1

    Take the file

The recording of the meeting is on the disk of the computer, and the address of the page of the platform is not needed.

  2. 2

Keep the file on your own disk

The service takes a file and not the address of a page, so the recording stays where it is and only the file of it is sent to the engine.

  3. 3

Choose the plan before the upload

The free plan is $0 with 3 files a day and up to 30 minutes a file, and the paid plan is $10 a month when you pay yearly, or $20 a month.

  4. 4

    Export and send it on

Take TXT for a plain text, SRT or VTT when the recording has to become a subtitled video, and DOCX for a review on Pro.

The result

What comes back from the engine

  • TXT

One segment per line, the way a person wrote it down. It is the format to paste into a ticket, a chat or a document.

  • TXT, CSV

The start and the end time of every segment, and the speakers named separately when you ask for it.

  • SRT, VTT

SRT and VTT with the time of every line, so the recording can carry its own subtitles.

  • Markdown, DOCX

The transcript is edited through the API and exported as Markdown for a wiki, or as DOCX for a review.

The facts

What the service takes, and what it gives

Where the file is

The service takes a file and not the address of a page: the recording has to be on your own disk before the engine can read it.

What the file is

The export is TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT or CSV, with DOCX on Pro, and the time of every line stays in the file that comes back.

Length of one file

up to 30 minutes on the free plan, no minute limit on Pro

Free plan

$0: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes per file, no card

The case

What the recording does not give you

A meeting leaves two things behind: a file of sound and a text nobody has. Nobody sits through 30 minutes to find one sentence, and that is exactly what a search in the text is for. The engine reads the recording and gives the text back with the timecodes in place, so the minutes are written from it.

Tips

  • Name the file of the recording after the meeting, not after the day.

  • Check the length of the recording before the upload: 30 minutes is the limit of one file.

  • Over 30 minutes on the free plan a file has to be cut before sending; Pro has no minute limit.

  • Set the language of the recording yourself when you know it, or leave it on automatic detection.

  • Turn on the split by speaker when more than two people talk in the recording.
