In short

Upload the recording of the round and it comes back written out, with the time of every line and each member of the team named apart. One file is up to 30 minutes; the free plan is $0 with 3 files a day.

The case

Ten minutes that nobody wants to sit through twice

A standup is ten minutes where the same five people say the same three things. The person who was on holiday reads it later, the person in another time zone reads it in writing, and the person who took the notes has already forgotten what was said on Tuesday. A transcript of the round turns the meeting into a text that can be searched in a second and read at the speed of reading.

How it works

How to transcribe a daily round

  1. 1

    Record the round

The recording the meeting platform produced is the file to upload; one file may be up to 30 minutes.

  2. 2

Upload it and split the voices

Drop the file into the widget above, leave the language on automatic detection and turn the split by speaker on.

  3. 3

Find the update of one person

Search the text for a name or a task and read the lines around it, with the timecode of the moment it was said.

  4. 4

Put the round into the tracker

Export CSV with one row per line for the tracker, and TXT when the text of the round goes to the channel.

Tips

  • Name the file after the day of the week and the sprint.

  • Keep the order of the round, not the alphabet of the names.

  • Export CSV when the round goes into a tracker.

  • Read the last minute: the blockers are usually said there.

Questions this page answers

Can every member of the team be told apart?

Yes, with the split by speaker on: each voice is named separately, so the update of the developer is not mixed with the answer of the lead.

Is a standup short enough for the free plan?

A round is usually well under 30 minutes, and the free plan allows up to 30 minutes per file and 3 files a day, without a card.

Does the transcript tell me what to do next?

No. It gives the words of the round. What is done before tomorrow is written by the person who runs the meeting.

Can I keep the transcript of every day?

Yes, in your account until you delete it. On the free plan the transcript is kept for 7 days, and nothing is sold.
