Fireflies vs Transcrib Si: a meeting assistant against a transcription service
One of them joins your meetings and writes the notes; the other takes the file you already have and gives you the words, the timecodes and the speakers. Fireflies vs Transcrib Si is not a fight over who is better — the two products do different work, and the useful question is which work sits on your desk.
What we compared, and how
Everything in the other column was read from public pages on 21 October 2026. Where a page could not be read, the cell says “not measured” — we do not fill those cells from advertising or from memory. Our own column comes from our pricing page, our service contract and our privacy policy, all published on this site.

Where Fireflies is better
- The meeting bot. Fireflies joins Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex and writes the transcript while the meeting runs. We do not join anything — you upload a file that already exists.
- The follow-up work. Summaries, action items, cross-meeting search, CRM sync, an email assistant and voice agents are the product, not an add-on.
- Unlimited transcription on the free plan, as published on its pricing page.
- The interface in 5 languages — en, es, de, fr, pt-BR — and a large content base: 1,887 URLs in the sitemap, 71 comparison pages, 55 tool pages and 99 integration pages.
- The price per seat at yearly payment: Pro at $10 a seat a month, Business at $19 a seat a month.
Where Transcrib Si is better
- Russian first. Our engine is tuned for Russian speech and for the mixed Russian-English conversation that is normal in a Russian office. Fireflies does not publish a number for the languages it transcribes.
- Nothing is recorded unless you ask. No bot joins your call and no device listens in the background; a file is transcribed after you upload it.
- A stated limit instead of a promise: 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month on Pro, and 120 minutes and 64 MB per file on every plan.
- Agent access. A REST API under api.transcrib.si/v1, an MCP server with 4 tools (transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions, list_transcripts) and plugins for Claude and ChatGPT.
- Six export formats you can read without a tool: TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX.
Who should pick which
- Pick Fireflies if the meeting itself is the object of work: you need the bot, the summary, the action items and the CRM update without asking anyone for a file.
- Pick Transcrib Si if the recording is the object of work: interviews, lectures, voice memos, podcasts and call recordings that you already hold as files.
- Pick Fireflies if your team lives in Spanish, German, French or Brazilian Portuguese and the notes have to be written in one of those interfaces.
- Pick either if the free plan decides it: both have one, and both count in minutes or in files.
- Pick Transcrib Si if you want the transcript in your own pipeline — a script, a notebook, a CRM field you write yourself.
The short version
If you sit in meetings and want the notes without asking for them, Fireflies is the product: a bot joins the call, the summary and the action items land in your CRM, and the free plan publishes unlimited transcription.
If you hold recordings — interviews, lectures, voice memos, podcasts, a call you were allowed to record — and want text you can cut, quote, search and feed to a script, Transcrib Si is the product: you upload the file, you get the transcript with a start and an end time for every segment, speaker labels on request, and six export formats.
The honest differences are these. Fireflies writes summaries and action items; we do not. We give you a REST API, an MCP server and plugins for Claude and ChatGPT; Fireflies publishes 99+ app integrations and we did not measure its developer surface. Our engine is tuned for Russian and English, Fireflies does not publish the number of languages it transcribes. Fireflies' interface is in 5 languages, ours is in English.
The limits, side by side
Every figure below was read from a public page on 21 October 2026. Our column comes from our own pricing page and service contract.
| Limit | Transcrib Si | Fireflies | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free plan | $0, no card, no trial clock: 3 files a day | $0 with unlimited transcription | our pricing page; fireflies.ai/pricing, 21 October 2026 |
| Paid plan | Pro $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly | Pro $18 a month or $10 a seat a month paid yearly; Business $29 a month or $19 a seat a month paid yearly | our pricing page; fireflies.ai/pricing, 21 October 2026 |
| Allowance on the paid plan | fair use of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month; the counter resets on the first day of the month | unlimited transcription on Pro and Business | our pricing page; fireflies.ai/pricing, 21 October 2026 |
| Per file | up to 64 MB and 120 minutes, on every plan including Team and the API | not measured — the unit of work is the meeting, not the file | our service contract |
| Languages transcribed | 2 — Russian and English, with automatic detection | not stated on the pages we read | our llms.txt; fireflies.ai pricing page, 21 October 2026 |
| Exports | 6 — TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV, DOCX | not measured; 99+ app integrations are published | our pricing page; fireflies.ai home page, 21 October 2026 |
How to decide in one minute
Answer these four questions and the choice is made:
- Does somebody have to be in the room for the transcript to exist? If yes, Fireflies.
- Is the recording already a file you own? If yes, Transcrib Si — no bot has to be invited or explained.
- Do you need the words or the summary? Words: Transcrib Si. Summary and action items inside the CRM: Fireflies.
- Is your audio Russian, or Russian with English in it? Transcrib Si. The engine is tuned for that mix and Fireflies publishes no language count.

Questions this page answers.
Which is cheaper, Fireflies or Transcrib Si?
Per seat at yearly payment Fireflies Pro is $10 a seat a month and ours is $10 a month for the whole account, but the allowances are different: Fireflies publishes unlimited transcription, ours is 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month on Pro. A team of five recording every hour of every meeting needs a different answer from a person with two interviews a week.
Does Fireflies or Transcrib Si transcribe more languages?
We state two — Russian and English. Fireflies does not publish the number of transcription languages on the pages we could read on 21 October 2026; its site interface is in 5 languages, which is a different fact. If the language count decides it for you, ask Fireflies directly and ask us for the evaluation report and the sample set.
Can Fireflies transcribe a file, not a meeting?
Fireflies is a meeting assistant; the pages we read describe the bot, the apps and the integrations. We did not measure a file-upload path on 21 October 2026, so we will not claim it does not have one. Our service takes files only, and says so on the pricing page.
Can I use Transcrib Si inside Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes — a plugin for each, both going through the same MCP server: transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions and list_transcripts. The API is REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, with an API key on Pro and Team.
Which one keeps the recording private?
We publish the whole answer: a Russian or mixed file is processed on our own infrastructure outside the United States, a purely English file may go to a third-party cloud speech provider in the United States when that fallback is enabled, nothing is sold, nothing is used to train models for other customers, Free transcripts are kept for 7 days and deleted files leave the live system immediately. Fireflies publishes its own policy — read it and compare.
