Speakr alternative: a service we could not read, and one you can
On 21 October 2026 the site of Speakr gave us nothing to compare: the root redirected by JavaScript to a landing page with no text, /pricing served the same stub, and a second domain rendered entirely on the client with 44 characters of server text. So this page does not pretend to know what Speakr does. It publishes our own facts in full, and it tells you what to check before you move.
What we compared, and how
Everything in the other column was read from public pages on 21 October 2026. Where a page could not be read, the cell says “not measured” — we do not fill those cells from advertising or from memory. Our own column comes from our pricing page, our service contract and our privacy policy, all published on this site.
| What | Transcrib Si | Speakr | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | a speech-to-text service and REST API for files you upload | not measured — on 21 October 2026 the site returned a JavaScript redirect to an empty page, and a second domain rendered client-side with no server text | speakr.io and speakr.com, read 21 October 2026 |
| Free plan | $0: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes and 64 MB per file, timestamps and speaker labels, exports to TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT and CSV, no card | not measured | our pricing page; speakr.io, read 21 October 2026 |
| Paid plan | Pro $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly; Team on request | not measured — a free and a Pro version are mentioned in an earlier survey of the product description, but no price was found | our pricing page; our survey of 21 October 2026 |
| Transcription languages | 2 — Russian and English, with automatic detection | not measured | our llms.txt; speakr.io, read 21 October 2026 |
| Export formats | 6 — TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV, DOCX (DOCX is a Pro feature) | not measured | our pricing page |
| API, MCP and agent plugins | REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, an MCP server with 4 tools, plugins for Claude and ChatGPT | not measured | our llms.txt |
| Machine-readable facts | llms.txt, llms-full.txt and JSON-LD with the prices and the limits | almost none — llms.txt exists but holds robots-style directives, and the sitemap lists one URL, the root | the llms.txt and the sitemap of both sites, read 21 October 2026 |
Where Speakr is better
- Nothing we could measure: on 21 October 2026 the site of Speakr did not give us a product page, a price or a feature list.
- An early signal worth naming: the robots.txt of speakr.io carries an LLM-Policy directive for llms.txt, which is rare and says the site was being prepared for AI readers.
- Our own survey of an earlier capture described the product as private AI transcripts and notes, with free and Pro versions; that description came from a search snippet, and we could not confirm it on the site itself.
Where Transcrib Si is better
- Everything on this page is published by us and readable without a login: $0 free with 3 files a day, $10 a month paid yearly for 1,500 minutes of audio, 64 MB and 120 minutes per file on every plan.
- Six export formats — TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX — and a published file list: mp3, wav, m4a, mp4, webm, ogg, flac, aac, wma, mov.
- Russian and English with automatic detection, tuned for Russian and for mixed Russian-English speech.
- A developer surface: REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, an MCP server with 4 tools, and plugins for Claude and ChatGPT.
- A privacy policy that names the processors, the countries and the retention periods, plus llms.txt, llms-full.txt and JSON-LD on every page.
Who should pick which
- Pick Speakr only if you already have an account and it works for you — we could not measure the product, so we will not talk it out of it.
- Pick Transcrib Si if you need a service whose price, limits, formats and data handling you can read today, without a login and without a support ticket.
- Pick Transcrib Si if you need the transcript in a script, in Claude or in ChatGPT.
- Pick Transcrib Si if your audio is Russian, or Russian with English in it.
What we found, exactly
Three things are worth reporting because they are unusual. First, the root of speakr.io served a JavaScript redirect to /lander, and /lander is an empty page — zero words of text. Second, the robots.txt of that domain carries a non-standard directive, an LLM-Policy pointing at llms.txt; it is rare and it says the site was being prepared for machine readers. Third, the llms.txt exists, but its content is robots-style directives rather than an index of pages, and the sitemap lists one URL — the root itself.
A second domain, speakr.com, renders entirely in the browser: our automated capture found 44 characters of text and no prices. Our own earlier survey described the product as private AI transcripts and notes with free and Pro versions, but that description came from a search snippet rather than from the site, and we will not repeat it as a fact.
The conclusion is simple. We cannot tell you what Speakr does, what it costs or how good it is. If you have an account and it works, nothing on this page should change your mind. If you are looking for something you can evaluate on your own, keep reading — our side of the table is complete.
What we publish on our side
Free is $0 with no card and no trial clock: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes and 64 MB per file, timestamps and speaker labels, and exports to TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT and CSV. Pro is $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly, with a fair use of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month, files up to 120 minutes and 64 MB, every export format including DOCX, a priority queue, the full history, REST API keys and MCP access. Team is priced on request. The API is metered by volume with no monthly fee, on the same engine and the same per-file limits.
We take files, not links: mp3, wav, m4a, mp4, webm, ogg, flac, aac, wma and mov, up to 64 MB and two hours per file. You can set the language or leave it on automatic detection, and you can ask for speaker separation. The answer comes back as the text, a list of segments with a start and an end time for every line, and the speaker labels.
On the data: a Russian or mixed Russian-English file is processed on our own transcription infrastructure, outside the United States; a file that is entirely in English may be passed to a third-party cloud speech provider in the United States when that fallback is enabled on the server; audio and transcripts are never sold and never used to train models for other customers; on Free, transcripts are kept for 7 days; a deleted file leaves the live system immediately and the encrypted backups within 30 days; technical logs are kept for 30 days. Payments go through Stripe, and card numbers never reach our servers.
What to check before you move
Whatever Speakr does today, these are the questions that decide a move, and they are the same questions we publish answers to:
- What does the free plan give, and what are the limits on the file size and the recording length?
- What does the paid plan cost, and is the allowance measured in minutes, files or meetings?
- How many languages, and is there a number for Russian?
- Which formats can the transcript be exported to, with timecodes and speakers?
- Where is the audio processed, who else sees it, and how long is it kept?
- Is there an API, and does it have an MCP server?
Put a file on the page and read the first lines.
The widget below is the same one as on the home page: file → transcript with timecodes and speakers → export. Sign in and the transcript moves into your account.

Questions this page answers.
Why does this page not describe Speakr's features?
Because we could not read them. On 21 October 2026 the root of speakr.io returned a JavaScript redirect to an empty landing page, /pricing served the same stub, and speakr.com rendered client-side with 44 characters of server text. We publish what we measured, and we do not fill the rest from memory.
What does Transcrib Si cost?
Free is $0 with no card: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes and 64 MB per file. Pro is $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly, with a fair use of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month and every export format including DOCX. Team is priced on request, and the API is metered by volume with no monthly fee.
Which languages do you transcribe?
Russian and English, with automatic detection when you do not set the language yourself; the engine is tuned for Russian and for mixed Russian-English speech. We publish no accuracy percentage — ask for the evaluation report and the sample set.
Can I use Transcrib Si inside Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes — a plugin for each, both going through the same MCP server: transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions and list_transcripts. The API is REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, with an API key on Pro and Team.
Is there a way to try it without an account?
Yes: the uploader on this page transcribes a file without an account, and the free plan needs no card. Sign in and the transcript moves into your account with the history and the exports.
