Comparison

tl;dv vs Transcrib Si: a meeting notetaker against a transcription service

tl;dv records the meeting and lets you ask questions about it afterwards. Transcrib Si transcribes the file you already have. The comparison below was read from public pages on 21 October 2026; the cells we could not read are marked, not filled.

What we compared, and how

Everything in the other column was read from public pages on 21 October 2026. Where a page could not be read, the cell says “not measured” — we do not fill those cells from advertising or from memory. Our own column comes from our pricing page, our service contract and our privacy policy, all published on this site.

Where tl;dv is better

  • The notetaker. tl;dv records the meeting itself, then asks questions about it: Ask AI and multi-meeting AI insights are the product, not an add-on.
  • The free plan. 0 EUR, unlimited video recordings and unlimited transcription in 30+ languages.
  • The interface in 11 languages — including Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Italian, Japanese and Korean — with about 878 pages in the Russian locale.
  • The content base. 8,973 URLs in the sitemap, 1,162 of them comparison pages, and a comparison hub in every locale. Nobody on our side publishes a thousand comparison pages.
  • Machine-readable structure: SoftwareApplication, Offer, AggregateRating, FAQPage and WebSite in one JSON-LD on the home page, and prices in JSON-LD on the pricing page.

Where Transcrib Si is better

  • Russian and English, tuned. Our engine is built for Russian speech and for the mixed Russian-English conversation; we state the number of languages instead of a marketing phrase.
  • No bot in the call. Nothing is recorded unless you ask: you upload the file you already have.
  • A stated allowance: 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month on Pro, and 64 MB and 120 minutes per file on every plan including Team and the API.
  • A developer surface you can read: REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, an MCP server with 4 tools, plugins for Claude and ChatGPT, API keys you create and revoke yourself.
  • Six export formats out of the box — TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX — and no paywall on the fifth one.

Who should pick which

  • Pick tl;dv if the meeting is the object of work and your team wants the notes without asking for them.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if you hold the recording and need the words: interviews, lectures, voice memos, podcasts, a call you were allowed to record.
  • Pick tl;dv if your team works in one of its 11 interface languages, including Russian and Ukrainian, and you want the notes written in that language.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if you want the transcript to land in your own pipeline — a script, a notebook, a CRM field you write yourself.
  • Pick either if the free plan decides it; both have one, and both count in minutes or in files.
This is not a review. It is a comparison of facts we could read and measure on 21 October 2026. We publish one of the two services and we have tried to state our own weak side as plainly as we state the other one.

The short version

tl;dv is bigger on the web and stronger at the meeting: 8,973 sitemap URLs, 1,162 comparison pages, 11 interface locales including Russian, Ask AI, multi-meeting insights, SCIM provisioning on Enterprise, and a JSON-LD home page that carries the product, the price, the rating and the FAQ at once.

We are smaller and narrower: two languages, a file at a time, a stated allowance of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month on Pro, six export formats, a REST API and an MCP server, and a privacy policy that names the countries and the retention periods.

Pick tl;dv when the meeting has to be captured. Pick Transcrib Si when the recording is already in your hands and the words are what you need.

The limits, side by side

Every figure below was read from a public page on 21 October 2026. Our column comes from our own pricing page and service contract.

Plans, allowances and languages
Limit Transcrib Si tl;dv Where it comes from
Free plan $0, no card: 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes and 64 MB per file 0 EUR: unlimited video recordings, unlimited transcription in 30+ languages our pricing page; tldv.io/app/pricing, 21 October 2026
Paid plan Pro $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly Pro 29 EUR a month per seat (216 EUR a year); Business 39 EUR a month per seat (348 EUR a year) our pricing page; tldv.io/app/pricing, 21 October 2026
Allowance fair use of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month unlimited meetings on Pro and Business; Enterprise on request, with SCIM provisioning our pricing page; tldv.io/app/pricing, 21 October 2026
Per file up to 64 MB and 120 minutes, on every plan including Team and the API not measured — the unit of work is the meeting our service contract
Languages transcribed 2 — Russian and English, with automatic detection 30+ (the pricing block phrase) our llms.txt; tldv.io/app/pricing, 21 October 2026
Interface languages English 11, including ru, uk, pl, it, ja, ko tldv.io locales, 21 October 2026

The one difference that decides it

Not the language count and not the price. The difference is the moment the work starts.

In tl;dv the work starts when the meeting starts: the notetaker is invited, the call is recorded, and everything else is derived from that recording. In Transcrib Si the work starts when a file already exists: you upload it, and the text comes out of it.

If you cannot always invite a bot into the room — a client interview, a confidential conversation, an internal review, a lecture — then the meeting-first product is not available to you at all, and the file-first product is the only one that works.

FAQ

Questions this page answers.

Is Transcrib Si cheaper than tl;dv?

The prices are not comparable without naming the currency: tl;dv quotes 18 EUR a seat a month for Pro paid yearly and 29 EUR for Business, our Pro is $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly. tl;dv publishes unlimited transcription; our Pro has a stated allowance of 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month, and going over it returns a clear error instead of a surprise.

Which one transcribes Russian better?

We can only answer for our own side: our engine is built for Russian speech and for mixed Russian-English conversation, and we publish where such a file is processed. tl;dv publishes “30+ languages” and has a Russian interface, but no accuracy number we could read on 21 October 2026. Neither of us publishes an accuracy percentage — ask for the evaluation report and the sample set, and test it on a Russian recording of your own.

Can tl;dv transcribe a file that is not a meeting?

We did not measure a file-upload path on 21 October 2026, so we will not claim that it does not have one. Our service takes files only, and says so on the pricing page.

Can I use Transcrib Si inside Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes — a plugin for each, both going through the same MCP server: transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions and list_transcripts. The API is REST v1 under api.transcrib.si, with an API key on Pro and Team.

Who keeps the data longer?

We publish the whole answer: on Free, transcripts are kept for 7 days; a deleted file leaves the live system immediately and the encrypted backups within 30 days; technical logs are kept for 30 days; audio and transcripts are never sold and never used to train models for other customers. Read tl;dv's own policy and compare the two.
