What we compared, and how

Everything in the other column was read from public pages on 21–22 October 2026. Where a page could not be read, the cell says “not measured” — we do not fill those cells from advertising or from memory. Our own column comes from our pricing page, our service contract and our privacy policy, all published on this site.

Where VEED is better

  • The editor around the transcript: an AI video editor with auto-subtitles, a large tool base of 6,096 tool pages, and 17,923 URLs in the sitemap.
  • 125+ transcription languages, with a claimed accuracy of up to 99.9% — that is VEED's own claim, and we did not measure it.
  • A free tier that lets you transcribe short clips and try the editor without a card.
  • Auto-subtitles under a fair use of 50 hours a month on the paid plans.
  • A rating published by a third party: 4.2 out of 5 on 3,910 reviews on Trustpilot, read on 22 October 2026. We publish no rating of our own.

Where Transcrib Si is better

  • One engine and one promise: a file in, a transcript out, with a start and an end time for every segment and speaker labels on request.
  • Six export formats — TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX — where the VEED list we read is TXT, SRT and VTT, with the subtitle download kept for the paid plans.
  • A stated price and a stated allowance: $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly, 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month, 64 MB and 120 minutes per file on every plan.
  • An interface for a program: REST v1 under api.transcrib.si/v1, an MCP server with 4 tools, plugins for Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Russian and English, tuned for Russian and for mixed Russian-English speech, and a published privacy policy that names the processors and the retention periods.

Who should pick which

  • Pick VEED if you are editing video and the subtitles are part of the edit.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if you need the transcript as a document: a DOCX, a CSV for a spreadsheet, a Markdown file for a repository.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if the transcript has to reach a script or an agent.
  • Pick Transcrib Si if your audio is Russian, or Russian with English in it.
  • Pick either if the free tier decides it: ours is $0 with no card, 3 files a day; VEED transcribes short clips for free.
This is not a review. It is a comparison of facts we could read and measure on 21–22 October 2026. We publish one of the two services and we have tried to state our own weak side as plainly as we state the other one.

The short version

VEED wins on the surround and on the language count: an editor with auto-subtitles, 125+ transcription languages, a claimed accuracy of up to 99.9%, and 6,096 tool pages in the sitemap.

We win on the artifact and on the price shape. VEED is priced per user per year — Creator $147, Pro $265, Studio $465, Enterprise on request from 3 users. We price one plan: $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly, with 1,500 minutes of audio per calendar month, and the same 64 MB and 120-minute limit per file on Free, Pro, Team and the API.

The formats differ in a way that matters for the next step of the work: the VEED list we read is TXT, SRT and VTT, with the subtitle download kept for the paid plans; ours is TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX, with five of them on the free plan.

How to decide in one minute

Three questions:

  • Will you cut or publish a video? Then VEED, and no question asked.
  • Do you need the transcript as a document, a table or a file for a program? Transcrib Si — DOCX, CSV, Markdown, an API and an MCP server.

FAQ

Questions this page answers.

Is Transcrib Si cheaper than VEED?

For transcription alone, yes at one seat: our Pro is $10 a month paid yearly ($120 a year) or $20 a month paid monthly, against VEED Creator at $147 a year per user, Pro at $265 and Studio at $465. VEED's price buys the editor and the auto-subtitles, so the comparison is only fair if you need them.

Which one transcribes more languages?

VEED names 125+ and claims an accuracy of up to 99.9%; that is VEED's own claim and we did not measure it. We publish two — Russian and English — tuned for Russian and for mixed Russian-English speech. A language count is not an accuracy measurement: ask both for the evaluation report and the sample set.

Can I export a transcript from VEED to DOCX or CSV?

The formats we read on the VEED pages are TXT, SRT and VTT, with the subtitle download kept for the paid plans. We export TXT, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and DOCX, with DOCX on Pro.

How does VEED rate on Trustpilot?

On 22 October 2026 the page trustpilot.com/review/veed.io showed 4.2 out of 5 on 3,910 reviews. We publish no rating of our own, and ratings move — read the page yourself before you decide.

Can I use Transcrib Si inside Claude or ChatGPT?

Yes — a plugin for each, both going through the same MCP server: transcribe_audio, summarize_transcript, extract_actions and list_transcripts.
